Questions

in

Hey guys,

QuestionsSo this time last year, I sent an email to women in our Hillsong Network asking if they had any questions they’d like me to address when they came to Colour. (We have a network get together, just before the conference).  Well, amazingly they responded and I got a bunch of questions, but when it came to the actual gathering, being the relational females that we are, we were kinda happy to just hang out, enjoy the views of Sydney harbour, drink coffee and interact on a more relaxed level.

Well I was thinking “maybe” I could attempt some of these questions on this Blog for a little season … who knows … maybe they could help someone.

I certainly don’t pretend to know it all, but I’ve been around for a little bit now. I’m 53 … been married almost 33 years, we’ve pastored the same church for over 26years, our three kids are fairly amazing (and not too dysfunctional, smile/joke/ha) … so maybe there’s some perspective I can add from my world and experience to yours.

So … amid all the busyness of the next few weeks with Colour bearing down like a baby about to pop,  I might try.

In the meantime have a brilliant week.  Know that you are not alone and there’s a world of wisdom to be gleaned from all around us.  I was sleepless last night, so grabbed a tea and started browsing through the STACK of books on my little desk at home.  Suddenly dawned on me that “God must REALLY love us, because there are so many avenues these days for WISDOM to find its way into our hearts, lives, questions and circumstances”.  To me that suggests something … that God isn’t a distant, uncaring god watching from afar, but rather that He wants to help and that maybe He wants us ALL magnificently and effectively equipped for the EPIC DAYS we are living in.

Love always
Bobbie

Your Testimonies

Dear Bobbie!

Bless you for all that you do, I live in Rutherford, NJ USA and am praying within the next couple of years to come to one of your conferences......probably the London one....but in the meantime my request is can I purchase a colour 2010 promotional DVD explaining what your women are helping with this year. I did get one a year or two ago and was so inspired by what your women are doing and how encouraging it was to me and it helped me put some God-thoughts together to be involved with bringing awareness regarding human sex slaves and raising funds for the safe-homes. As well as doing a small crochet group and the women donated scarves and such to make money for Love 146 at our church Christmas fair. Also, I did see your will be starting a church in NYC ......I am soooooooooo very excited - could you email me some info about that..........I am a 55 years young and have so much I want to do to serve the Lord....the knitting sisterhood is something I really would love to have here in the U.S how can I do so would I be considered a chapter or part of your sisterhood? I think lots of gals would love to feel connected with such a wonderful sisterhood...........keep up the wonderful work you are doing for our Lord and Saviour and one other question.......what version of Bible to you read, I cannot seem to locate the translation you were using on the blog...bless you and your family......in Jesus' Name...Amen!

Dearest Bobbie- Princess of the Most High,
I pray that you are resting in His arms after Colour!
Thank you for blessing me to attend.
I just wanted to ask if sisterhood is on this Thursday.
God bless you and the Hillsong team.
All praise and glory to God.

Hi Bobbie, I attended my first Colour Conference this year (2010) and loved every minute! I have been generally out of fellowship for over a year due to severe burnout, and really loved the God-input this weekend.

Like many others, my heart was moved by the women of Gulu who need facial reconstruction (as well as the other great needs that we saw on screen), and I wondered if there is a video clip available to us so that we can show it at our morning teas.

Sometimes, people outside of church need to be aware of things like this and as they are short clips, it can be useful to make the plight of these people more real to those in this blessed country!

Thanks and blessings for all your great work!

Hi Bobbie
Had an awesome thought. Wouldn't it be great to have a pandora or similar charm for sale at each colour conference eg. teapot! I think a sitahood charm would be fantastic and a great fundraiser for Watoto.
Have a great day
Suzanne

Hi Bobbie, Myself, my mum and two friends attended Colour Conference 1 and we all had such a wonderful time. Thankyou for putting this all together for us. You do such a fantastic job. I was wanting to ask, had you read the book "God's Word to Women" by Katharine Bushnell? It was written early l9th century and she was a great advocate for the plight of women, both in the church where they were silenced and outside the church where they were often exploited. She also writes of the woman in Rev 12 and a company of women. It was an interesting book for me to read as I come from a church where women arn't allowed to preach, however throughout the conference I couldn't get it of of my mind what she wrote about the company of women coming into play for the end times. I just wondered if you had read it and if so your opinion. Hope the second conference is just as great, or even better than the first and you get a little rest after it's all over... for a little while at least. God bless you. Loretta.

No questions, but wanted to let you know that my Son is attending the Hillsong college (1st year) and he recently gave me your book "I'll have what she's having" awesome awesome.... I have passed it on to my friends and will continue. Also, just wanted to let you and Brian know that my parents knew Brian's dad through his ministry.During his visits to Fiji Islands my family came to know him and he came over for dinner or something . I never knew this until recently my brothers told me. What a great surprise for us and now my son is at this college. Well there is lot to write but I thought I would just comment on these and let Brian know that his dad was a great person for my family. Will be visiting your church soon. (March) God Bless you, Brian and your family. Isabel

I recently joined Hillsong Cape Town and I must say that I have been blown away...Its fresh, exciting and mind blowing. but I must say that Phil and Lucinda are just out of this world-I guess that their ability to be who they are so freely is what makes me so free in church! then I heard about the colour conference...and for the first time in my 19 years on this earth, something inside of me was stirred-really stirred! I want to go! I would love to go! I need to go! you see, I know that god is doing something in my life. What it is, I cannot say but I know that He is working in me. For now, I know that i can't afford to go but I will be praying hard...am even going to take a step of faith and get my pass port done. Whether I get to go this year or not is yet to be seen. Am just trusting God to let His will be done in my life, at His own time. As I continue to grow in Him...I am happy and full of an inexplicable amount of joy! Well I dont really have a question to ask, but what beautiful persprctive that dawned on you! “God must REALLY love us, because there are so many avenues these days for WISDOM to find its way into our hearts, lives, questions and circumstances”. I am so thankful for this! I am studying to be a counsellor and am blown away by what a healing process it is for me but more than anything I hope that I can an avenue for Gods love to connect with peoples hearts, lives, questions and circumstances. xx Bec

Hi Bobbie,

You're right about all the avenues available to us today, and that people from all around the world have the opportunity to share what God has revealed to them and we get to read it! I was just thinking of you today, I have a blogging sister in America (we havent met but we get to 'virtually' encourage one another) who has written a book for pastors wives called "You Can Still Wear Cute Shoes". I figured you probably know more pastors wives and women in ministry than anyone I know, so I wanted to recommend it to you. Her name is Lisa McKay and I bought her book from Amazon. She also blogs at www.apreacherswife.com

Blessings for the next few weeks and beyond!

Donna.

Thanks Donna, thats cool, there is so much great resource around today and so easily accessible. Amazing days we are living in. God bless, Bobbie
