WHATEVER IT TAKES
Okay, seriously couldn't resist creating this image ... yep, with a spirit of 'WHATEVER IT TAKES', we your Colour friends (volcanic ash or not) are coming to London and Kiev ... whether it's over land across Asia, on a camel, or by sea ... ha ... if we leave now, swing by the Gold Coast to pick up Dr Robi, swing by LA to pick up Holly, Priscilla & Christina (plus Joel & Brian), we might make it by 2011!!!!
People often ask Brian and I about things that have contributed to our longevity in life and ministry. There are lots and lots and LOTS of responses to that question, but one answer is that we definitely see the funny side in most everything, and we definitely have no trouble laughing at ourselves. Maybe it's an Aussie thing, maybe it's a Hillsong thing, and maybe it's a Kingdom thing.
Happiness is so often subject to circumstance; joy on the other hand is a revelation. One of my most favourite verses is found in ... right, where would it be found Bobbie ... hang on and I'll look it up in a sec ... but it says, "Give God your warmest smile". I know a big warm smile isn't necessarily a big belly laugh ... and gee I love a belly laugh ... but a BIG WARM SMILE thrown heavenward, especially in the midst of challenge, changes the atmosphere around you.
It's a declaration within your soul that God is sovereign, in control and can be trusted. It's a declaration to those around you that "Hey, its okay, God is on the throne, we can figure this out, things could be worse. Let's get some perspective, let's give our face a rest and release some well-being hormones, and let's never forget people, that WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE" ... and it is also a frightening concept to the enemy, if he's anywhere in the vicinity. He hates it when we give God our warmest smile. He must get really irritated when he's thrown all his efforts into discouraging us, and then we turn around and "give God a smile". I know this to be reality, cos' I proved it once a lot of years ago on my balcony, when all hell seemed to be coming against us ... I looked heavenward and gave God my biggest, cheesiest, loveliest, peggiest SMILE ... & it was as though all the attack and oppression lifted. If anyone has read the "I'll have ..." book, I write about it there.
So anyway, I wasn't meaning to do another blog, but the image was a spontaneous moment in the office yesterday and then my genius little graphic friend sent it through just now. Anyways, believing for an incredible gathering at COLOUR London & Kiev ... if you are coming, safe travels ... if not - there's still time ... be blessed, be blessed, be blessed!!!!!
Love ya's,
Bobbie
(PS: oh yeah, the verse ... hang on ... Psalm 34:5 Message) xox
(PPS: And all lunacy aside, there are probably a lot of people who have, or are being negatively affected by this Volcano situation, so lets truly be praying for them also. Amen!)

Hi Bobbie, I don't know if you'll ever get to read this, but that's ok. Whom ever gets to read this I just want to say THANK YOU! Thank you for your faithfullness and commitment to serving the body so lovingly and genuinely. Proverbs 31:28 "Her children will arise and call her blessed" You have adopted women across the globe and have impacted the world globally. That is astounding! Today I want to arise and call you Blessed! Here I am at work at the elementary school where I work as an office manager like any other day in Naples, Floriday USA. It's Thursday morning and a ray of sunshine came across my email, it was your blog. I can't tell you how much I enjoy your blogs they are a ray of sunshine to my day. Bobbie you are truly inspiring! How I wish I can erach out and give you a great big hug, but know that I do in my heart each time I read your blogs. There is so much I can say about Hillsong Ministries and how it has impacted not only my life but my family's life as well over the past 16 years. I have 3 daughters Stephanie 21, Jennifer 18 and Samantha 16. Stephanie dreams about moving to Sydney and attending Hillsong College ever since she was 17. My husband and I feel it would be awesome if we could all go and sit under Hillsong for a good year or two. Who knows, only God. So, just wanted to let you know that my life has been impacted by my family Down Under and for years I've wanted to say this to you and your family, THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Hi All of you lovely Colour Team members,
I really struggled to get to Colour this year even though I had my tickets and accommodation booked a year in advance. I was going, then I wasn't going, then I was going again and so on...so many circumstances and mixed feelings attacking my decision. I've enthusiastically attended Colour for the past 5 years, always booking a year in advance! But this year was a struggle. I was so indecisive. Even a good friend said, "That's not like you to be indecisive." That's when I thought, "That's it, I'm going!"
And my decision to go was confirmed on Day 1 when I walked out of the parking station at the Entertainment Centre and there to greet me, the first person I saw, was Elle French, one of your wonderful Volunteers from the Leadership College! Elle and I have known each other for a couple of years now and it was perfect to see her lovely face and get a big hug on arrival.
Second confirmation I received was during Bobbie's opening session and her first Bible reference was Psalm 121 - the very verses I've been praying for my daughter all year while she's travelled and struggled with life issues! Bobbie reading that passage confirmed to me that God had heard me speaking that same passage out loud everyday and there was Bobbie speaking it back to me! :)
So from the very start of Conference I was welcomed and I was able to settle in and enjoy the ride. It was a great time, met up with so many friends from all times and places of my life, Colour is such a great gathering place. Thanks to everyone for your wonderful work and how that translates to blessings for all of us who attend.
My tickets and accommodation are booked for 2011. I always buy two tickets it hope and faith that my daughter will find God and come with me! Please pray for my Kate and that she will make it in 2011!
Love to you all,
Bonnie Harley
