Be The Change

At the Colour 2010 conference, we gave everyone a gift!

A cute teapot & cup with the words I AM SISTERHOOD & BE THE CHANGE inscribed.

It was our gift to all the fabulous delegates who gathered – in the hope that they would receive it, love it, be blessed and be reminded each time they use it, that they are not alone, they are believed in and that they are part of fabulous sisterhood of women on the earth.

But we also created it with a hope, dream, wild & fun imagination in mind!

Women love connection!

Women love a reason to get together,

IMAGINE if we all had a tangible reason to reach out to friends and neighbours, girlfriends and colleagues, family and even strangers.

The Sisterhood has always been about gathering, both near and far.

The Sisterhood has always been about telling people that there is a God in heaven that loves them.

The Sisterhood has always been about making a difference in your local community

The Sisterhood has always been about raising awareness for the needs of humanity

The Sisterhood has always been about taking action on behalf of orphans, sisters and nations.

The Sisterhood has not changed – our message remains the same. The difference is we are asking you to carry the message!

Sisterhood CupcakesAre you Sisterhood?

In 2010 we are creating a new way for you to be sisterhood in your community. To carry the message of the sisterhood – connection, relationship with our saviour, awareness of injustice and solution into your neighbourhood!

Be the Change morning teas is simply a vehicle for you to do that – to choose to make a difference in your community, host a morning tea, bless the women in your neighbourhood, build relationships with them. Make friends – invite people into your home (or space) and allow your life to show them that they have a hope and a future.

Maybe you already have a group of friends that meet regularly over a pot of tea and timtams… if so …choose a project to get involved in as a group… bathe a nation in prayer and take authority over human trafficking in that nation, host a baby Watoto shower, fundraise for a Watoto home, pray over the lives of street children in Mumbai…the choices are endless – it is just about taking the message of sisterhood into your world….

Mums groups – choose to be about more than nappies and breastfeeding – choose to be sisterhood in your group – pray/connect – invite single mums with no support network…collect nice/used baby clothes and donate them to someone that has nothing – a refugee family that have just moved in down the road…encourage one another to see beyond the sleepless nights and the next meal…

Maybe you are not the connection type – you don’t even know how to start! This is for you as well… we have designed this to be as simple as possible – from how to make a cup of tea and which is the best muffin packet mix to use, all the way to a beautiful invitation that you can drop into your neighbours or your girls at work…All it takes from you is a choice to be sisterhood.. to carry this message into your community.

Sisterhood PicnicFor the school drop off mums – maybe you could decide to reach out to the other mums waiting at the gate – bring a basket of muffins to the gate and make friends – build relationships – be sisterhood!

For those of you working in an office – build a community amongst your colleagues, host an afternoon tea in the lunch room, make it fun, make it about relationships, build a network of encouragement.

So what are you waiting for?
