Projects

In 2010 we are putting the focus back on the local community. Rather than sending items in to us to send out to various projects we are asking you to find the need within your local community and distribute items there.
There are so many options for this including:

  • Blankets and scarves for local homeless refuges
  • Blankets for new refugee families (check with your local council)
  • Local Hospital Needs: we have donated everything from babies blankets and soft toys through to swaddling blankets for still born babies.
  • Knee throws for your local retirement village
  • Baby blankets for new mums

Basically we are encouraging you to find a local need and be the sisterhood in your local community. The most important thing is to ask the questions of your local hospital, council, church and community centre and find out what they need.

We still have patterns and suggestions available on our website and will continue to put up the testimonies that come in from you. So please send in your stories of what you are doing and how it is making a difference in your local community!

Please Note: We will not be accepting any more knitting at the Sisterhood office to be distributed either locally or overseas.
