Colour Flood Gift Vouchers Update
Hey again, hope you are all well. We reported recently on the amazing generosity of the Colour delegates in London towards the elderly of that city - hope you got a chance to read it and be blessed by the heartwarming photos. So as promised, here is a little glimpse of what happened with the "Gift vouchers" given at the Sydney conference towards the flood victims of Queensland. Your generosity also has made a world of difference and I pray that you will be blessed in return for your kindness. Catherine, who helps administrate the Colour Foundation, put the following report together for you". Love always, Bobbie

Each year at Colour we try to find a way that the conference itself can have a tangible impact in the city or country that it meets in. In 2010 the delegates brought over 14 000 hygiene items which were beautifully packaged up and distributed through Mission Australia and the Salvation Army Youth oasis network to homeless people in our city. As a Sisterhood in 2011 we felt compelled to extend our hand to the victims of the Queensland floods, many of whom had lost everything with very little warning. Our call to action was simple – if everyone could just bring a gift voucher to conference we would package them up and give them out. The response was overwhelming!
Over $67 000 worth of vouchers were given at Colour Conference and our local Sisterhood united – your generosity was incredible!

As this was a gift from the broader Colour Sisterhood we sought to work with local churches and organisations that had relationships and networks with people in the effected areas as well as through our own local HIllsong Church campus in Brisbane.
To make the gifts as useful as possible we packaged them up into $200 gifts to be given to families most effected along with the beautiful cards that you wrote as a message of encouragement. They have all been distributed to the churches and many have already reached the people that they were intended for. A huge thank you to Ipswich Region community church, Westlife Christian Church, Australian Christian Churches and New Hope Church in Toowomba for partnering with us as a Sisterhood to distribute these gifts!
There are many incredible stories but we have just included some of the people who received these vouchers to let you know what your generosity meant to them:
Leah (Goodna) “A Big thank you to all the wonderful people ho donated gift vouchers. We have bought things to make our house feel like a home… Your special gift has helped us on our road to recovery. The cupcakes were amazing too.” (Leah’s gifts were distributed by our local Hillsong Sisterhood in Brisbane being the change )

Susan (pictured below) not only suffered from the flood but broke her arm and was diagnosed with lung cancer during this period. She said: “well you guys restored my faith in the human race, I cant thank you enough. Those ladies were lovely and bought me good tidings on a bad day…”

Robyn from Rocklea “thanks heaps for the vouchers they came in handy to buy blankets and sheets. Loved the cards that came with it, it made me cry”
So THANK YOU COLOUR SYDNEY… you made a huge difference to some beautiful people, not only did you give generously and meet their practical needs but as a Sisterhood we were able to reach out and make a difference with our words and actions too.
If ONE woman can change her world, IMAGINE what ONE COMPANY of women can do….
